I had been getting mixed information for several sources about whether the crankset was BB30 or not. While I have been waiting for the delivery I was doing some more research about the crankset. A nice setup, definitely expensive though. The frame is carbon with an ultegra sl/durace component mix, and mavic wheels. So after some research I ordered the Cannondale Six Carbon 3 through my lbs (not yet delivered). I quickly realized that I could just purchase an off-the-shelf bike with a carbon frame and the essential groupset for the same (even less cost) than my original direction. The aluminum frame is a 60cm frame (slightly large for me) and worn, and I realized throwing a lot of money into it may not be the best idea. It quickly became apparent that the cost of doing so was not completely justified. Meanwhile, I intended on building the CAAD5 frame up from the ground meeting my specs. I was originally planning on doing a complete overhaul, and reusing the existing components on a restored steel frame (maybe a Surly or Fuji) to get a nice touring bike out of the process. I currently ride a CAAD5 frame with a mix of shimano 105 components, tiagra, truvativ, and some other misc. For context, I am currently involved in upgrading my existing racing bike.
